Privacy Policy
Girls Who Change the World takes the privacy of every applicant and member — especially children — seriously.
Girls Who Change the World™ ("GWCTW", "we") is an education project founded and operated by Sofiko Bigvava, Tbilisi, Georgia. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how we protect it. For any question about this policy, contact us at hello@girlswhochangetheworld.org.
Applications. When a girl applies for a cohort, we collect: her name, age, city, school (optional), languages, her answers to the application questions, and her parent or guardian's name, email, and phone number.
Members. If a girl is selected, we additionally collect: the preferred spelling of her name for printed materials, attendance records, and — only with explicit, separate parental consent — photographs and video recorded during program meetings.
Website. Our website does not use advertising trackers and does not build visitor profiles. Basic technical logs (such as page requests) may be processed by our hosting provider to keep the site running and secure.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We do not use children's data for advertising of any kind.
Our program is for girls aged 10–14. An application can only be submitted with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and all program-related communication is conducted with the parent or guardian. Photo and video consent is collected separately, in writing, with distinct options: internal archive only, publication without the child's name, or publication with the child's name. A parent or guardian may change or withdraw this consent at any time.
Each member card carries a QR code linking to a verification page on this website (for example, girlswhochangetheworld.org/m/0001). By default these pages display only the Member ID, cohort, and season — not the child's name. A member's first name is added to her page only with explicit parental consent.
A parent or guardian may at any time request a copy of the personal data we hold about them or their child, ask us to correct it, restrict its use, or delete it. Write to hello@girlswhochangetheworld.org and we will respond within 30 days.
Application and member data is stored in access-controlled systems available only to the founder and the cohort coordinator. Paper consent forms are stored securely offline.
We use a small number of service providers to operate: website hosting, an application form provider, and email. Each processes data only on our behalf and only for the purposes described above.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and note the date below. For active cohorts, parents and guardians will be informed directly.
